Reykjavík campsite map

Loved this campsite- would definitely go back

When I started planning my trip to Iceland, I was unsure whether camping would be a viable option, as I wouldn't be renting a car and would be relying completely on public transport to get around.

I was so delighted when I found out there was such a lovely looking campsite so close to the city and with access to busses. I couldn't be happier with my stay- the facilities were great, and it meant that myself and my friend were able to spend just €500 for a 4-night trip (flights, food etc included).

I recommend this to anyone who enjoys camping, or to anyone who wants to do their trip on a budget- even if a bit unsure about camping.

Green campsite

This campsite is the greenest campsite that I have ever stayed in. There are different recycling bins for travellers to use. Staff members diligently sort out and salvage wastes from being wasted. There are facilities for travellers to swap food and other items which means to reduce total waste and to make Iceland greener. I wish other campsites around the world would do the same.

Apart from being a green campsite, the staff are super friendly, efficient and helpful. They would go the extra mile to help you with booking tours and anything you might have queries about.

I would recommend this campsite to all travellers who visit Reykjavík.

A perfect end to our Campervan trip in Iceland!

My 18-year-old son and I had a great stay! I was able to do our laundry onsite and visit the community pool and hot pots (ahhhhh!) right next door. We felt safe and secure with the access codes and loved the overall vibe of the urban campsite.

Very well equipped for winter

We stayed here unexpectedly on the last night of our recent trip after an iffy weather forecast drove us back toward civilization early. It was more expensive than other sites we'd stayed at but worth it. I assume this is just a winter thing due to banks of snow around the facilities but we were given access to the facilities in the hostel - great!

We were able to have lovely hot showers, cook tea in the kitchen, and borrow some ketchup for the hot dogs we'd been carrying around all week! The local pool is right next door too and it is close to the centre of Reykjavik.
